PETERS, Krista Margaret The funeral for Krista Peters, beloved daughter of Kenny and Joan (nee Perry) Peters, formerly of Rustico, was held on Monday, December 21, 2020, at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, North Rustico. The celebrant for the mass of Christian burial was Reverend Arulraj Santiago, who proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. The first reading, from Revelation was addressed by Paul Gallant. The second reading, from Romans, was addressed by Nancy Doucette who also led the prayers of the faithful. Heartfelt words of remembrance were shared by mother, Joan Doiron. The music was provided by the church choir with Sister Phyllis Gallant, CND, as organist and the song leader was Noreen Down. The hymns were Entrance, “Here I Am, Lord”; Psalm, “The Lord’s My Shepherd”; Gospel Acclamation, “Celtic Alleluia”, with Noreen Down as Cantor; offertory, “Peace Is Flowing Like a River”; communion, “On Eagles Wings”; post-communion, “Hail Mary, Gentle Woman”; commendation, “Songs of the Angels”; and recessional, “Be Not Afraid”. Honorary pallbearers were everyone present. Bearers of honour were mother, Joan Peters; father, Kenny Peters; and son, Chase Peters Interment took place in the church cemetery where Father Raj conducted the committal service. Arrangements were entrusted to Central Queen`s Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
