Karla Evelyn Muttenthaler — Halifax

Karla Evelyn Muttenthaler was a shining light to many people. Being a massage therapist and reiki master, she combined the physical and spiritual sides of healing to spread love, joy, and positivity to everyone she met. In 2019, Karla was suddenly diagnosed with a rare, incurable cancer called low grade serous ovarian cancer. After living and bravely fighting the disease for over a year and a half, on Sunday, April 18, 2021 she peacefully passed away at the age of 26 with her loving mum and sister by her side. Karla is survived by her mother, Susan Muttenthaler; father, Frank Muttenthaler (Rockford Beneditto-Blithe); sister, Joey Muttenthaler of Nova Scotia; grandmother, Elaine Smith of New Brunswick; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins spread across Canada. The family wishes to express their "Gratitude" to all of the staff of Ward 7A of the Victoria General Hospital of Halifax for the kindness and care they extended to Karla.
