Jean Gough

Jean Gough
GOUGH, Jean Elizabeth It is with profound sadness, yet gratitude for the blessing her life was to us, that the family of Jean Elizabeth Gough (Pentz) announce her passing. Mom passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2020, at the age of 93 years. Family and church were everything to Mom. She was the wife, mother, daughter and granddaughter of clergy. With her parents, Rev. Dr. Arthur and Susie Pentz, and her brothers, Dr. Robert Pentz (Mae) and Dr. Gordon Pentz (Marjorie), she grew up involved in church life. As a cherished wife and important partner in ministry with our Dad, the Rev. Cyril Gough, they served congregations in Newfoundland, NS, NB Quebec and PEI. For many years since retirement, Mom was very involved with Stanhope United Church, and more recently Trinity United Church in Charlottetown. Mom was so proud of her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren and loved nothing better than to see them, hear from them and to receive pictures and news of all their activities. Her IPad kept her connected with family and friends far and wide. Mom loved to sew and cook and bake, to read and to knit, and many enjoyed the fruits of her labour. She also worked part time for many years as a Registered Pharmacy Clerk. Mom was a wonderful, generous woman who put everyone before herself. She will be desperately missed by her children, Susan Breen (Robert) and Rev. William Gough; her grandchildren, Erin Breen Harris (Adam), Timothy Breen (Evelyn Ashton), Geoffrey Breen (Danielle Boyd), Matthew Gough (Krista Bullen), Janey Gough, Sarah Gough, Andrew Gough, and Jordan Gough; her great-grandchildren, Elisabeth, Aiden Robbie and Blayke Harris, Hudson and Wren Breen, Violet Ashton - Breen and Evelyn Gough; her sister-in-law Mae Pentz, and cousin Alison Yoshioka, special friend Rev. Joy Noble and many dear friends. Many thanks to the doctors and nurses of Unit 2 for their kind and compassionate care. Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel. A family funeral will be held on Wednesday from Trinity United Church. Interment in Sherwood Cemetery. Family flowers only, however, if so desired, donations to the Mission and Service Fund of the United Church of Canada or Berwick Camp. Online condolences may be made at www.macleanfh.com The funeral will be live streamed on the Trinity-Clifton Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/TrinityUnitedCharlottetown
