The death occurred peacefully with family by her side, at the Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home, Charlottetown, on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, of Vernita Fleming (nee MacIntyre), wife of the late James Fleming, formerly of Cornwall, aged 80. Vernita was the mother of Terry (Nancy), John (Elaine) and Jason; and grandmother of Alyssa and Emma Fleming. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Virginia Curran and Jane MacIntyre; and brother-in-law, Eddie Lund. Besides her husband James, Vernita was predeceased by her parents, John J. and Marion (Steele) MacIntyre; and siblings, Valentine, Mary, Vincent, William, Evelyn, Cy, Winnie, Theresa, Kay, Clarence, Albert, Reggie, Joan and Buddy. Resting at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Cornwall for visitation on Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Due to severe allergies please refrain from wearing scented products. Interment will take place later in St. Martin of Tours and St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Cumberland. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff of Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home for their compassionate care over the years.
