Harold Richardson

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our father, Harold Earnest Richardson. Long-time resident of Trenton, Ontario, Harold passed away Saturday the 7th of September at Moira Place, Tweed ending his battle with Alzheimer’s. Born the 27th of November, 1935 in New Zion, NB, the son of Everett and Annie Richardson, Harold joined the Bank of Nova Scotia shortly after graduating high school. He stayed with the bank his entire 40 year career, retiring as branch manager in Trenton in 1996. The bank first transferred him from New Brunswick to Prince Edward Island and then to Montreal, Quebec, where he married June Ford in August 1963. They had 2 children, Michael Roderick (1965) and Lori Kim (1969), and remained in the Montreal area for 20 years before moving to Ottawa briefly, then settling in Trenton in 1981. Through the years the family continued to travel ‘down home’ to their family cottage in PEI with Hal and June spending summers there and winters in Trenton during their retirement. Harold is predeceased by his late wife June Richardson (2016), and leaves behind his son, Mike, of Trenton, his daughter, Lori, of Toronto, 4 siblings, and many nieces, nephews, close friends and colleagues. Cremation and a private family gathering has taken place. A celebration of life honouring both Harold and June Richardson will take place Sunday, October 6th 1pm - 4pm at the Trent Port Marina, 15 Creswell Dr, Trenton, ON K8V 6X5. Expressions of sympathy and memorial gifts may be made to the family’s charity of choice: Alzheimer Society of Hastings-Prince Edward. https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/alzheimer-society-of-belleville-hastings-quinte Arrangements in care of Weaver Life Centre, 29 Bay Street, Trenton.
