George Robinson Toombs

The death occurred peacefully at his home in Oyster Bed Bridge, on Monday, June 17, 2019, of George Toombs, husband of the late Mildred Toombs (nee MacDonald), aged 87. George was the beloved father of Kenneth, James and Harvey; grandfather of Samantha O’Brien (James) and Elaine Toombs (Alex Marshall); and great-grandfather of Tristan, Pagan and Lacey-Jade Watts. He is survived by his sisters, Amy Graham and Mary Robertson. Besides his wife, Mildred, George was predeceased by his parents, Cyril and Dorothy (MacMillan) Toombs; son, Bobby; brothers, Grant and Harvey, and brother-in-law, Lloyd (Pat). A Private funeral was held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Interment took place in the New Glasgow Cemetery.
