Dorothy Gallant

Dorothy Gallant
GALLANT, Dorothy It is with profound sadness that the family of Dorothy Gallant (nee MacDougall) announce her peaceful passing on Friday, April 17, 2020 at the age of 98 years. She was a wonderful mother who loved her family and always put their needs before her own. Dorothy spent 13 years in the fashion industry including several years of travel to Montreal and Toronto on various buying trips. In 1953 she married Gerald Gallant of Wellington, PEI and relocated to Moncton. Together they raised 4 children who became her world and love of her life. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Gregory (Elaine Leadbetter) of Oakville, Gordon (Donna) of Bedford, daughter Kathy LeBlanc (Mario) of Moncton and son Barry (Darlene Greeley) of Bedford as well as grandchildren Matthew (Megan) Gallant and Jeremy and Monica LeBlanc, along with great granddaughter Ella. She will also be dearly missed by her brother Jim (Irene) MacDougall, sister Alma Batherson and sister-in-law Dorothy MacDougall along with many nieces and nephews and their families who lovingly referred to her as ‘Aunt Dot’. She was predeceased by her husband Gerald in 2005 and by her parents Edward and Frances (Curley) MacDougall, sisters Eva, Millie, Helen, Shirley and brothers Art, Walter and Robert. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Church Parish Cemetery, Wellington PEI. A special heartfelt thank you to Lynn Grass and the Grass Home caretakers for the loving and compassionate care that was provided to our mother during her time with them. Arrangements are in the care of Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (506-858-1995). In memory of Dorothy, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated. Online condolences for the family may be shared on Fergusons Funeral Home Facebook page or at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com Mother you left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide, although we cannot see you, you’re always at our side. We love you mom.
