Carol Lee MCINNIS

Carol Lee Mcinnis
MCINNIS, Carol lee (nee Green) It is with heavy hearts we announce that on January 20th, 2021 we lost a beautiful wife, mother and grandma. Carol lee is forever loved and never forgotten by husband of 42 years Ron McInnis, daughter Lindsay (Wade) and grandchildren George and Freya. She will be missed by her sister Joni (Wayne, Ellen, Erin), mother Carol Green, father Bill Green (predeceased), in-laws George and Marion McInnis (predeceased), sister-in-law Pat (Ellen, Nina), brother-in-law Jim (Janice, Andy, Peter and Amy). Carol lee was born in Charlottetown December 27, 1956. She lived a beautiful life and will always be remembered for her kindness and big heart. She always put others first. Her family was everything to her, she loved being a wife, a mom, and a friend, and she cherished her grandchildren more than anything. Carol Lee married her high school sweetheart, or as she called him, “the one.” They were soulmates and best friends, holding hands right to the end. Throughout the years she supported Ron in every one of his professional pursuits at TD Bank, moving from province to province, always making it feel like home. Carol lee loved to capture the beauty of Prince Edward Island in her paintings. She loved her summer home in Georgetown – her favourite spot was in the screen porch reading a book and watching the sunrise. She also loved a good golf game – and anyone that every golfed with her always commented on her smooth swing. An avid curler, she skipped her team to the club championship at Bayview Country Club in Toronto. Travelling was a huge passion of hers and was fortunate enough to see much of the world in her 64 years. She truly loved life and was up for anything, trips to Thailand where she hiked through the rainforest with her daughter, cold dips in Lora Bay, ghost walks and whisky tastings in Edinburgh, but also simple things like a glass of wine at home and a good book. Through her grandchildren she found so much joy in the little things – long walks, reading stories, puzzles and playing on the beach. Carol lee faced cancer with her usual quiet determination and strength. She had a strong will to live. After a 15-month journey with ovarian cancer she passed away peacefully at home at Niagara-On-The -Lake. She never gave up and fought to the very end. Special thanks to Dr. Eiriksson and team at the Juravinski Hospital, all the nurses and PSW’s and palliative care team at St. Elizabeth’s for their care and compassion. A virtual celebration of life will be held at later date and donations can be made in Carol lee’s honour to ovarian cancer Canada (ovariancanada.org). “Life is a great sunrise. I do not see why death should not be an even greater one.” - Vladmir Nabokov
