Ann MacLeod

MACLEOD, Ann The death occurred suddenly at home on May 20, 2020 of Ann MacLeod of Pembrooke and formerly of Murray Harbour. Age 59. Lovingly remembered by partner, Betty Brouwer; mother Ginny MacLeod; sister Dawn (Ken) Taylor; nephews Devan (Heather Gay) Taylor and Jordan Taylor; and great-niece Eliza. Predeceased by grandparents Fred & Maggie MacLeod, Thelma Jordan and Ev Jordan and father V. Bruce MacLeod. Ann grew up on Machon’s Point Rd in Murray Harbour. As a young girl, Ann enjoyed playing ice hockey on the harbour ice and many games of street hockey, football and baseball. Ann especially loved the water and a favorite pastime was swimming with her cousins. At an early age, Ann learned to drive anything with wheels, which prepared her for a career with the Canadian Armed Forces. Here she met Betty, her soul mate and fellow driver. Together they enjoyed many road trips to visit family and friends. She especially enjoyed coming home to the Island and to family suppers and get-togethers. Ann was very soft-hearted and helped many people who were in need. Her hearty laugh and beautiful smile would light up a room. Often she could be found in the crowd sharing a joke with her infectious laughter. Ann lived her life to the fullest and I am sure she and Mikey, her once beloved dog, have gone to the beach. “Mikey, grab your blanket, we’re going to the beach”. Cremation to take place. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Donations may be made in Ann’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation at the funeral home by mail (P O Box 222, Murray River, PE C0A 1W0) or by etransfer at [email protected] Arrangements entrusted to Southern Kings & Queens Funeral Home.
