CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Charlottetown’s Natal Day birthday celebrations include family yoga, a pancake breakfast, skateboarding and a BMX and scooter competition.
Free family yoga will take place in Rochford Square on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 8 a.m.
All ages are welcome, but people are advised to bring a yoga mat.
The pancake breakfast takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the square. The menu includes free pancakes, juice, sausage and coffee, along with entertainment by Adam MacGregor and the Foes. The rain location is the fire station on Kent Street.
The skateboard, BMX and scooter competition will take place at the Victoria Park skateboard park, with registration at 9:30 a.m. Helmets are mandatory and prizes will be awarded.
The weekend includes a celebration in honour of Forbes Kennedy, a seniors’ social with the mayor and council, the citizen recognition awards, traditional Natal Day parade and church service, the Downtown Farmers’ Market and VegP.E.I.’s first vegan block party.
The weekend wraps up with afternoon fun in the park featuring children’s activities, birthday cupcakes and much more at Victoria Park.
