A woman who was in a two-vehicle collision in Dunstaffnage on March 8 has died.

Staff Sgt. Kevin Baillie said the RCMP learned on March 10 that the woman who was driving a Honda Civic that was involved in the collision died.

The RCMP did not identify the driver, but The Guardian has learned she was Shelly Yu Sha, who was originally from China and moved to P.E.I. in 2009.

She is survived by her husband and son.

On March 8 the RCMP, Island EMS and the North Shore Fire Department responded to the collision between a Honda Civic and a Dodge truck at around 3 p.m.

Yu Sha was driving from work at Aqua Bounty in Fortune when she was involved in the collision.

She died the next day.

Baillie said he didn’t anticipate any charges would be laid in connection with the collision, but it is still under investigation.

Road and weather conditions were poor at the time, Baillie said.

A memorial service will be held for Yu Sha on Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Bahai Centre on Lapthorne Avenue in Charlottetown.

A trust fund for her son’s education has been set up and donations can be made at the CIBC.
