Charlottetown police were cracking down hard on University Avenue speeders in the month of April.

Police issued 18 tickets on the avenue between Enman Crescent and the entrance to UPEI.

Twelve of those tickets were written where McKinnon Road intersects the avenue, close to the university’s entrance.

Fourth Street, which connects the West Royalty Industrial Park with the bypass, was also a hotspot. Police issued 10 tickets during the course of the month.

Nine speeding tickets were written on Brackley Point Road, between MacAleer Drive and Sherwood Road.

Eight tickets were written on Lower Malpeque Road, between Highfield and Westway.

Eight tickets were also issued on Mount Edward Road, from Hillside, Palmers and Woodlawn streets.

Seven tickets were written on North River Road, between Inkerman Boulevard and McGill Avenue.

As for the bypass highway, often a spot for speeders, police issued six tickets in April on the section of the highway that borders Brackley Point Road and St. Peters Road.
