Two people were taken to hospital Thursday with non-life-threatening injuries following a chain-reaction collision on the Hillsborough Bridge.
During the evening commute at around 5 p.m., four vehicles collided on the bridge. Two of the drivers were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown.
Island EMS and the Crossroads Fire Department assisted at the scene.
The RCMP said the collision is a reminder for drivers to slow down on the Hillsborough Bridge and leave room between vehicles for stopping and lane changes. Traffic volume is consistently high at this time of day, which means drivers need to use caution and provide enough space to be able to react to a situation if it occurs.
