LUNENBURG, N.S. — Police say a man was arrested for impaired driving in Lunenburg, N.S., after allegedly hitting multiple parked cars and a building in the small town over the weekend.
RCMP say officers responded to several 911 calls about a black truck driving erratically through the community on Sunday around 3:45 p.m.
In total, police say three cars, two parking meters and a building were damaged. They say a shop was also damaged when a parking meter went through the store window.
Police say officers found the driver sitting outside his vehicle a block up from the town's waterfront, where he was arrested for alcohol-impaired driving.
He was taken to the Cookville Detachment for a breath test, and police say the samples he provided were 2.5 times the legal limit.
The 41-year-old driver from Lunenburg County is set to appear in court on Jan. 9.
