Halifax police say 57-year-old man struck and killed by vehicle in Dartmouth

HALIFAX, N.S. —

Police in Halifax say a 57-year-old man is dead after being struck by a vehicle.

The accident occurred around 5:50 a.m. today near 350 Pleasant St. in Dartmouth.

Police say the man was pronounced dead at the scene and his name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Investigators were on the scene and police say Pleasant Street between Atlantic Street and Mount Hope Avenue was blocked to vehicle traffic in both directions and was to remain closed for an extended period of time.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call them or to contact Crime Stoppers.
