Wind power in Summerside reaches record high

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Wind power accounted for 61.1 per cent of Summerside's electricity in May this year.

"Which I think is probably the highest yet," said Coun. Greg Campbell, who also noted that one windmill wasn't operating for a brief period in May.

Campbell shared the information during his electric report at Summerside's monthly council meeting, which was held at City Hall last month. 

The city's four windmills are located along Lyle Road.
