An active incident near Tignish has been resolved according to an email from the RCMP, though they are still asking residents to avoid Route 14 between Back Settlement Road and Route 182.

CHRISTOPHER CROSS, P.E.I. — An active incident near Tignish has been resolved, though RCMP are still asking the public to remain away from the area.

Around 6:30 a.m. Sunday, RCMP asked residents to avoid Route 14 between Back Settlement Road and Route 182 due to the incident.

No details were given in the email, but it said there was no risk to the public at the time.

A second email was sent around 3:30 p.m., saying the incident had been resolved and asked the public to continue to avoid the area, but offered no further details.
