KENSINGTON, P.E.I. — The train station in Kensington will be freshly cooled once a new heat pump is installed.
Kensington town council voted to award a contract for mechanical upgrades to the train station to Capital T Electric, in the amount of $18,500 plus HST. Two bids were received.
The upgrades will include the installation of a four-ton heat pump unit with three ceiling cassettes, as well as two bathroom exhaust fans.
The renovations will improve air flow to the building and washrooms, provide air conditioning and a more economical heating system for the train station.
Funding will come from the town's gas tax allocation.
