KENSINGTON, P.E.I. — The May Kensington town council meeting approved spending on several spring projects.
The fence bordering the Railyard development and Kent Building Supplies will be replaced. The expense will be shared 50-50 with Kent. Council approved the project at a cost of no greater than $7,772.50 plus HST.
Other fencing bordering the property is also in disrepair. Mayor Rowan Caseley suggested the town authorize money to be spent on the additional fence, just in case work on the project begins before council can meet to approve the funds. Council approved a $12,500 plus HST to be spent on replacing this stretch of fencing.
The line-painting tender, another annual spring expense, was awarded to On The Go Property Maintenance, to be completed for $3,135 plus HST.
In other expenses, the town of Kensington paid bills in the amount of $208,048.49. The town’s Water and Pollution Control corporation spent $9,017.32 on bills in February and $17,601.79 in March.
