SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — A 24-year-old Summerside man was in provincial court recently to answer to multiple charges of theft and fraud.

Gerald Adamson Shields pleaded guilty to seven counts of theft under $5,000, one count of fraud under $5,000, one count of attempted theft and three counts of breaching an undertaking. The charges are from October and December 2019 and January 2020.

Shields was caught stealing and trying to steal televisions from the Summerside Superstore, Wal-Mart and Canadian Tire stores. He committed fraud at the Sobeys.

Shields will spend four months in jail and then 24 months on probation. He must also stay away from Sobeys, Superstore, Canadian Tire and Wal-Mart stores in Summerside.
