SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Summerside is waiting on COVID-19 to determine when it can review the taxi bylaw.

Coun. Carrie Adams, who sits on the city's bylaw and policy review committee, broached the topic during Summerside's monthly council meeting at city hall on June 15.

Amendments to the city's taxi bylaw have been proposed and it's been one of the committee's main focuses.

The next step is to get input from industry representatives, which will take the form of a group meeting, Adams said.

"It's going to be everybody all together at once," she said.

"Let everybody hear each other's stories so that everybody knows where everybody is."

That being said, the committee is waiting until COVID-19 restrictions surrounding group gatherings are lifted before holding the meeting.

Once it's held, the proposed changes will be brought to council, she said.

"I'm just happy to see the taxi bylaw review moving forward," Coun. Barb Ramsay said.
