SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The preliminary financial results for the City of Summerside's 2019-2020 fiscal year is showing a surplus of $63,356.

According to the department's report, which was presented at the April monthly council meeting, the city has been able to offset additional costs – such as cleanup and restoration from post-tropical storm Dorian and lower-than-expected revenue – without adding to the city's long-term debt.

Final capital results were not presented but will be given to council once the year-end audit is complete and the 2019-2020 financial statements are released in June.
