SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — A 46-year-old Summerside man is facing several charges after a domestic dispute in Summerside on Monday.
Just before 6 p.m. on Jan. 25, the victim called 911 reporting that she had been assaulted by her ex-common law partner. Police attended the residence and found the victim who reported being assaulted and threatened with a weapon after a verbal argument. The victim also disclosed a sexual assault that occurred previous to this incident.
As a result, the man was taken into custody and will appear in court at a later date to answer to charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, sexual assault and assault.
The victim did not sustain any significant physical injuries as a result of these incidents.
