SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The controversial development of 29 Spruce Dr. in Summerside is now in the hands of council.

The development recently came before the Technical Services Committee, which discussed it and then moved it along to its final destination, a full vote from council is scheduled for Oct. 21 at 6:30 p.m.

This development has attracted the anger of neighbours who say it is not a good fit for their mostly single-family home neighbourhood. The developers plan for a mix of duplexes and row-housing style homes.

This development was actually approved by council last year but it has since changed hands. The new owners want to rezone a slice of the property to allow for more row-houses.
