Singer-songwriters Megan Ellands, Jenna-Marie Gallant to share stage

Singer-songwriters Megan Ellands and Jenna-Marie Gallant will be special guests at the Bonshaw Ceilidh concert on Sunday,​ June 30. The event takes place at the Bonshaw Hall from 7-9 p.m.

Hailing from Rustico, Gallant is a 20-year-old singer/songwriter who has been writing lyrics and sharing songs that are personal in nature. She has shared the stage with Lennie Gallant, Ashley Condon, Meaghan Blanchard and Michael Pendergast. She has also performed at the P.E.I. Mutual Festival of Small Halls and opened for Ryan Cook during his P.E.I. Rural Routes Tour.

Ellands is a crowd favourite who has been performing since she was nine. She won P.E.I.'s Got Talent in 2013 with her song “Civil War”. The piece was used by Reach Out, the anti-bullying team Bluefield High, when she was attending school there. Ellands is enrolled in the Music Performance program at Holland College and performs at weddings, concerts, ceilidhs and family shindigs accompanying herself on guitar and piano.

Other guest performers will include Niki Deveaux from Charlottetown plus regulars Herb MacDonald, Phil Pineau and Tony the Troubadour. The event includes a 50/50 draw, homemade cookies and tea and open stage time. Admission is by donation with proceeds going to the P.E.I. Chapter Crohn's and Colitis.
