CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Cinema Politica Charlottetown, UPEI’s Environmental Society and the Council of Canadians invite the public to a screening of “Modified”, on Tuesday, June 18, 7 p.m., in McDougall Hall, Room 243 at UPEI.
This multiple award-winning documentary has plenty to offer, both for those who are curious about GMOs or who have a well-informed opinion.
Around the world, 64 countries label GMO foods or foods containing GMOs, but Canada and the United States do not. Documentary film-maker Aube Giroux and her mother, a gardener, food activist and cancer patient, decided to investigate why this is, revealing along the way how the giants of agribusiness are able to control the government’s food policies.
