Yoga practitioners living in the Maritime provinces are eligible to apply for a scholarship to attend a week-long summer writing retreat on the South Shore of P.E.I.

The scholarship, valued at $750, will offset the costs of workshops, programming, and optional activities for one writer from P.E.I., New Brunswick or Nova Scotia.

Joshua Lewis, retreat facilitator, said interest in the scholarship has been strong and that a number of applications have already been submitted and practitioners across the region are reaching out to express enthusiasm.

The scholarship is open to practitioners of all ages currently living in the Maritime provinces. Those who identify as LGBTQ, Indigenous, or as a person of colour are particularly encouraged to apply.

The deadline for applications is July 1.

Yoga by the Sea is an intimate five-day writing retreat which will run Aug 25-30 in Victoria-by-the-Sea. The retreat will feature daily movement workshops, solo time, cultural activities, and optional reflective writing workshops lead by instructor Trevor Corkum.
