INVERNESS, P.E.I. — A 45-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman have been arrested and face drug-related charges after being stopped by police Thursday.

The Prince District JFO Drug Unit, which is comprised of RCMP, Summerside and Kensington police members, conducted a targeted vehicle stop around 1 a.m. on June 11.

The two people was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.

Police then executed a search warrant at a related residence in Inverness, P.E.I.

As a result of these arrests and the search warrant, police seized over 150 grams of cocaine, a cannabis extraction lab, cash and weapons.

The two arrested people are facing charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

P.E.I. RCMP Major Crime, P.E.I. RCMP Federal and Serious Organized Crime and P.E.I. RCMP Police Dog Services assisted Prince District JFO with this investigation.
