P.E.I. woman jailed for assault

GEORGETOWN, P.E.I. — A P.E.I. woman who assaulted a man was recently sentenced to 10 days in jail and ordered to have no contact with him.

Linda Lee Dixon, 44, appeared before Chief Judge Nancy Orr in provincial court in Georgetown for sentencing after previously pleading guilty to the assault.

Along with the jail time, Dixon will be on probation for 18 months, during which time she is banned from contact with the victim unless her probation officer consents.

Dixon must also pay a $100 victim surcharge.
