KENSINGTON, P.E.I. — A new boardwalk is coming to Kensington’s railyard development, council heard at the June 8 council meeting.
Boardwalk around the train station is complete, and work began to the boardwalk around the liquor store on June 8.
The boardwalk surrounds a leased building, and the boardwalk replacement will be cost-shared between the lessee and the town. The lessee will replace the boardwalk along Commercial Street with concrete at his own expense.
The town will replace the remainder of the walkway on the north, east and west of the building to the same specifications as the existing boardwalk at a cost of $15,750.
The project will be paid for using money from the Gas Tax funds.
