O'LEARY, P.E.I. — Since taking on the role of O’Leary recreation director in April, Andrew Avery says the request that keeps topping the to-do list is for O’Leary to bring back its Santa Claus Parade.
O’Leary’s first Santa Claus Parade in about a decade is all set for Nov. 30, but Avery says a few more entries would help make it a reality. Organizations and businesses interested in entering a float have until this Wednesday, Nov. 20 to register. They can do so through email at [email protected].
The parade is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30 and will follow the same route as the summertime ‘s Potato Blossom Festival parade, leaving from the ADL parking lot out Gaspe
Road and turning right onto Main Street, then left onto Park Avenue and left onto Community Street, finishing off at the Fire Hall and Town Hall complex, 18 Community Street.
Children will be able to drop off their letters for Santa at the town hall and there will be caroling and hot chocolate there from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The Christmas in O’Leary celebration concludes with a free skate at the O’Leary Community Sports Centre at 7:30 pm.
