Man arrested in St. Nicholas, P.E.I. after jumping in front of vehicles wielding a hatchet

A man was arrested in St. Nicholas and faces charges after jumping in front of vehicles while wielding a hatchet earlier this week.

Prince District RCMP received a complaint of the incident, which took place on Route 11, just before noon on June 16.

The man was identified and safely arrested by officers a short time later.

He is being held in custody and facing several charges.

The investigation is still ongoing.

Some vehicles were damaged by the suspect and police are asking anyone that may have damage to their vehicle as a result of the incident or anyone who may have witnessed the event, to contact the East Prince RCMP at 902-436-9300.
