SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — A 47-year-old Summerside man has been remanded into custody and is facing 12 charges after a search of a Summer Street business on April 17.
The Summerside Police Services’ Major Crime Unit had been investigating the man’s weapons-related activities and that investigation culminated in Friday’s search of a business known as Bit Krazy.
During the search of the business, police located a loaded 9-mm handgun and a significant quantity of suspected cocaine.
Steven Wallace Frizzell was remanded into custody Saturday morning and will appear before the court again Monday morning to answer to charges including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon, possessing a weapon while prohibited from doing so, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and breaching release conditions of an undertaking.
Frizzell is also facing charges of assault, mischief and uttering threats from a separate incident.
The Major Crime Unit was assisted with this investigation by the Prince District Joint Forces Drug Section and the uniform patrol members of the Summerside Police Services.
