KENSINGTON, P.E.I. — Beautification around Hogg Trail has been added to the Heart of the Island’s mandate.

The trail loops within the town and has been getting positive reviews from snowshoers and hikers, but many others aren’t aware the trail at all, said Kensington Coun. Corinne Pickering who also sits on the Heart of the Island board.

The John Hogg Kensington Public Forest is 36.8 acres of woodland with 2.4 kilometres of trails throughout.

Main access is from the Confederation Trail 1 km south of Route 2, near the Industrial Park.

“We’re looking at getting signage on the Confederation Trail and coming up with a plan to mark it better, so more people are aware of it in our backyard in Kensington, which is exciting,” said Pickering.
