KENSINGTON, P.E.I. — The town of Kensington is hiring several summer students to sanitize the town’s public spaces.
Starting June 9, the crew will be tasked with cleaning public washrooms several times per day as well as sanitizing playground equipment, picnic tables and benches seven days per week.
Kensington’s chief administrative officer, Geoff Baker told council at the June 8 meeting, the students’ wages are funded 100 per cent by the province.
The community’s pool will open on July 1.
Baker said he’s not sure if swimming lessons will be offered at the pool this summer, but the town is trying to offer something for residents.
“It won’t be the same as traditional swimming lessons,” said Baker.
