Islanders compete at 4-H P.E.I. provincial demonstrations

Members from 4-H clubs across P.E.I. took part in the annual RBC Financial 4-H P.E.I. Provincial Demonstrations Competition May 15 at Charlottetown Rural High School. Competitors qualified for the provincial level of competition by first winning at their club, area, and district levels.

The audience was treated to fun demonstrations on cooking, crafts, sports, fashion and more.
Kathryn McCully, Santina Beaton and Tricia Sanderson, all of whom are 4-H alumni, judged the event, and the evening’s emcee was 4-H member Dalaney Welsh.

Following are the winners in each category:

Junior single demonstrations: Ashlyn MacNeill (Elmsdale Beavers 4-H Club)

Senior single demonstrations: Yolanda Llamarez-Gonzalez (Dunstaffnage Marshfield 4-H Club)

Junior double demonstrations: Annika Trivers and Charlotte MacLaine (Cavendish 4-H Club)

Senior double demonstrations: Hudson Welsh and Kim Bain (Dunstaffnage Marshfield 4-H Club).

Most original demonstrations: Zoe Stewart (Dunstaffnage Marshfield 4-H Club)

Overall top speech award: Ashlyn MacNeill (Elmsdale Beavers 4-H Club)
