Charlottetown Rural High School
Charlottetown Rural is excited to host Career Day on March 14. This day promises to be a tremendous learning opportunity for students. It will give them an insight into over 100 career pathways. Presenters will speak to their journey, their career and life decisions, some details on their chosen occupation and where they see their future career prospects. The day begins with a keynote session from Sharon Cameron who will help set the tone for the day of being open to new ideas and new possibilities. Steve Collette will wrap up the day with a message of hard work and determination leading to personal success and fulfillment. Career Day serves as an opportunity for teachers to work with students on making informed decisions about career and life choices.
UPEI will be at the school on Friday to do registrations. Students are asked to go to Student Services before that day to sign up and indicate what program they have applied to. Students will be given a time for their course registration.
Bluefield High School

On Wednesday, author Patti Larsen will be providing a half day writing workshop for Creative Writing 521 and ADP students. This will be an amazing opportunity for students to develop their creative writing skills and explore how writing can be pursued as a possible future career option.
Heckbert Studios will be returning to Bluefield on Thursday to deliver graduation picture packages. Package balances must be paid in full before students can receive them. Students will be notified of their balances. Contact Mrs. Coughlin or Mrs. Ryan Koughan if you there are any questions.
Grade 12 students, who have been accepted to UPEI and who have paid their $100 deposit, will be registering for their UPEI courses on Tuesday, March 13 in the reading room at Bluefield High School. Students must sign up.
Appreciation is expressed to Ms. Perry's Foods and Culinary classes on providing breakfast for staff last Friday before our Professional Development Day.
Montague Regional High School
The Montague Regional High School Disney Choir will be travelling to Orlando, Florida for March break to participate in the Disney Performing Arts Program. Members have been working so hard on their music and choreography and will be performing on Tuesday, March 27 at 11 p.m. at the Marketplace Stage in Disney Springs. Admission is free. Anyone in the area is welcome to attend.
Student Council will be hosting an all-you-can-eat dessert party. It will be held on March 13 from 6-8 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Storm date is Wednesday, March 14 at the same time. Cost is $5. All are welcome.

Colonel Gray High School
There will be a MADD Assembly for students on March 12.
The Colonel Gray Senior concert (Grade 11/12) band and the Grade 10 band will perform at the Delta Prince Edward Hotel during P.E.I. Band Days on Wednesday. The Grade 10’s play from 2:30 - 3:05 p.m. The Grade 11/12’s play from 3:40- 4:15 p.m. All performances are open to the public.
UPEI will host a registration and individual academic planning event for Colonel Gray students on March 22 after school in CG Computer Lab 153. Please sign up in Student Services.
The Community Service Bursary Program now permits students in Grades 10-12 to accumulate volunteer hours, calculated at a rate of $5 per hour. Students need to register at [email protected] or call 902-368-4640 to accumulate a minimum of 30 hours, up to a maximum of 150 hours. These hours will then be credited to the student’s post-secondary account when starting university or college. See bulletin board in Student Services for recent additions of possible volunteer opportunities.
Kinkora Regional High School
Appreciation is expressed to the Confederation Centre of the Arts for lending four pieces of artwork. These will be on loan to KRHS for two years and will be on view in the library.
The annual Blazer Beef Supper, a major KRHS fundraising event, will be held at the Kinkora Place on Sunday, April 22 from 4-6 p.m. Cost is $15 for adults and $8 for children-under-12. Take-outs will be available.
Kinkora’s Destination Imagination team will be competing in a Provincial tournament on March 17 at East Wiltshire School in the Fine Arts Dramatic Improv Competition. Members of the team include Grade 9 students Elisa Carota, Grace Smith, Hayden Callaghan, Mikyia MacGillivary and Ryley MacWilliams. Appreciation is expressed to teacher/ adviser Norah Pendergast.
Grads voted in Liam Arsenault as their class valedictorian on Feb. 22 and had their group grad photo taken by former KRHS grad Haylee Anderson.
