A new food truck village is being planned for Summerside’s waterfront this summer.
Downtown Summerside Inc. and Port Summerside are teaming up for the project, which they’ve dubbed Summerside Street Eats.
Organizers are looking to attract up to six food trucks to make their home on the waterfront from June until September.
Part of the attraction for trucks and visitors alike will be an outdoor covered dining area and evening lighting, attractive landscaping and washrooms facilities.
The idea is for visitors to be able to grab some food and hang out by the water as they taste local offerings. Live entertainment is also planned for some evenings.
The village will be located in the south-eastern corner of the Harbour Quay parking lot on Heather Moyse Drive.
Drive-up and walk-up options will be available.
Organizers are still accepting applications from interested vendors. Anyone interested can contact Gary Doucette at Port Summerside at 902-786-4366.
