A minor structure fire caused damage to one room of a home on Whiteway Street Tuesday afternoon but there were no injuries.
Firefighters from the St. John’s Regional Fire Department were called to the home at about 3 p.m. following a report from a neighbour about a possible fire.
When they arrived on scene, they found smoke on the second storey of the home and quickly extinguished the fire.
A dog that was kenneled inside the home was also moved outside as a precaution but it was unharmed.
A fan was used to clear the home of smoke.
The home suffered minor fire, smoke and water damage.
No cause has been determined and the incident is under investigation.
