A Cornwall man has been handed three days in jail for impaired driving in Portage.

Steven Andrew Gallant, 34, was returning home after working at a wedding on Aug. 9 when police pulled him over for erratic driving.

His first breath sample was just over the legal limit, at 90 mg/100 ml. A second charge was stayed. He has no previous record.

Gallant was fined $1,000 and must pay $300 in victim surcharges. He’ll be prohibited from driving for 12 months.

“I’m very sorry, your honour,” said Gallant. “It’ll never happen again.”
