KENSINGTON, P.E.I. — Kensington town council approved a motion unanimously to increase funding to the Kensington Meals on Wheels program.
After donating $1,200 per year for at least the last 18 years, the council agreed to increase that to $2,000.
The program subsidizes about 30 meals, three times a week to seniors in Kensington and neighbouring communities.
Mayor Rowan Caseley noted in his report that there is a great need for this service and the program is mainly run by volunteers, although the co-ordinator receives an honorarium.
