SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — An unsightly premise on 405 Chestnut Ave. is getting cleaned up.
Summerside city council made the resolution during its monthly meeting on May 19, held via video conference.
The premise's resident had been given notice from the Summerside Police in late April to clean it up as per the dangerous, hazardous and unsightly premises bylaw.
The resident did not comply within the timeframe so now a city inspector will enter the property to have it brought into compliance. The city will cover the cost initially but will then invoice the resident.
Coun. Carrie Adams noted that other unsightly premises around the city are also being taken into consideration.
"This isn't the only property being dealt with by the police."
