Drinking and driving charges against accused Ingonish man dismissed

SYDNEY, N.S. — Charges of drinking and driving have been dismissed against an Ingonish man.

Bernard Wade MacDougall, 56, of Schnitzel Lane, was to stand trial on charges of impaired driving, driving with a blood/alcohol level exceeding the legal limit, dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

The offences were alleged to have occurred in Sydney in February 2019.

Meanwhile, MacDougall is scheduled to stand trial in Port Hawkesbury June 10 on charges of impaired driving, driving with a blood/alcohol level exceeding the legal limit, failing to attend court and uttering a threat.

The offences are alleged to have occurred last May 19 in Ingonish Beach.
