A 14-year-old Charlottetown male has been charged with theft under $5,000 (theft from a vehicle) after police responded to a suspicious person complaint on July 19.

Charlottetown Police Services responded to the call at 3 a.m. Thursday, where they located the accused and another male in the Spring Park area of the city.

Police said many theft from vehicle occurrences were reported in that area on July 17.

The accused has been released from custody and will appear in provincial court at a later date.

Police would like to thank the public for their assistance, and remind residents to be vigilant and lock their doors and remove valuables from vehicles.
