Former Charlottetown councillor Philip Brown is hoping third time is the charm.
Brown confirmed to The Guardian this week that he will once again seek the mayor’s chair in the Nov. 5 municipal election.
Brown has been handing out business cards that read “Philip Brown for mayor’’ with the campaign slogan “Champion for Charlottetown’’.
This will be the third time Brown has run for the mayor’s office. He previously lost to incumbent Clifford Lee in 2010 by 3,057 votes and in 2014 by 2,867 votes.
Lee announced earlier this year he will not seek re-election.
Brown becomes the third candidate in the mayor’s race, joining Jamie Larkin and Cecil Villard.
While Brown confirmed he’s in the race, he declined an interview this week, saying he will release details of his campaign platform next week.
Brown’s full-time job at the moment is as a teacher at Prince Street School. He’s also involved in the family business, EB Brown’s Transport & Crane Services.
