SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. – A man and a woman face weapons and drug charges after searching a residence in Summerside earlier this week.

On Wednesday, members of the Prince District Joint Forces Operation Unit, Summerside Police Services and the RCMP’s Police Dog Service recovered a firearm from a vehicle at 802 Water St. and arrested a 32-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman as a result.

Stemming from this, police executed a search warrant at a residence later the same day.

Methamphetamine, prescription medications, marijuana, illegal drug paraphernalia, contraband cigarettes and money were seized during the search.

The two accused will appear in Summerside court at a later date to answer to the charges.

The investigation is ongoing, and police ask anyone with information to contact the East Prince detachment at 902-436-9300, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
