STRATFORD, P.E.I. - Stratford town council has given the green light to a new apartment building, two new commercial buildings and some new field lighting.
At its monthly meeting on Wednesday night, council approved an application from Larry Stewart to construct a 24-unit, three-storey apartment building at 29 Stratford Rd. The property measures at 0.8 acres.
It will be the first apartment building with underground parking in the town.
Council also approved an application from FMT RE Development Inc. to construct two 6,000 square-foot commercial buildings as well as two accessory storage unit buildings at 26 and 28 Hollis Ave. in the Stratford Business Park.
The third item on the list was some new lighting for MacNeill Field.
Council approved the tender for replacing the lights at the upper ball field and installing new lights at the lower ball field. The low tender was submitted by Hansen Electric at a cost of $221,145.
