Miscouche elects Albert Gallant as mayor

MISCOUCHE, P.E.I. - Albert Gallant will become the new mayor of Miscouche in December. He out-polled Stacy MacAusland 151-59 in the mayor’s race in Monday’s election.

Incumbent councillor Patrick MacLellan was the top vote-getter for a council seat, the choice of 163 of the municipality’s 212 voters. Incumbent councillor Joan Arsenault was also returned, receiving 154 votes.

Outgoing mayor Ivan Blanchard, who opted to offer for a council seat this time, is returning to the council table with the support of 149 voters.

Joining the council will be Allan Parks (162), Jacqueline lecky (154) and John Searle (117). Missing out on a seat is Charles MacAusland who received 103 votes.
