Members of the Prince Edward Island Regiment (RCAC) will fire a 21-round gun salute on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at Peakes Quay, located near the intersection of Great George Street and Lower Water Street in Charlottetown.
The 21-round salute, in honour of the fallen who served in Canada’s defence, will be fired from two 105mm LG 1 Mark II Howitzers using blank ammunition which will give off loud noise and some smoke.
The Prince Edward Island Regiment (RCAC) is an Army Reserve unit based in Charlottetown and Summerside whose lineage dates back to the 1870s. The unit specializes in armoured reconnaissance. The movement and activity of Canadian Armed Forces vehicles and personnel will not pose a significant disturbance to the community.
