Judy MacNevin, a registered nurse, has announced she will be seeking the Liberal Party of P.E.I. nomination in District 17 New Haven-Rocky Point.
MacNevin is a graduate of the UPEI school of nursing and has been working as a nurse in the province since 1982.
As well as her duties as an RN, MacNevin has held a number of leadership roles in P.E.I.'s healthcare field, with a particular focus on the education and training of new nurses and workers.
Apart from her professional life, MacNevin is an active volunteer with a number of organizations including Canada Games, Special Olympics, South Shore Minor Hockey Association and the Englewood Home and School Association.
MacNevin is a resident of Desable where she lives and works on an eighth-generation farm alongside her husband Donnie. They have three children, Katie, Kim and Colin, and two grandchildren.
The District 17 Nomination meeting will be held Feb. 12 at Afton Hall. Registration opens at 6 p.m. and the meeting starts at 7 p.m.
